The UK’s best new festival transforms The Royal Festival Hall into a Multi – Venue Vintage playground for London’s most uplifting and stylish party this summer. Friday 29 – Sunday 31 July 2011

Celebrating 7 decades of British cool: the music, dance, fashion, food, art, design and film from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Music line-up to span 8 decade-specific nightclubs and 3 daily revue shows featuring unique performances by soul legend Percy Sledge, electronic pioneers Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode) and  Thomas Dolby and 60s icon Sandie Shaw.

 ‘Soundtrack of Their Lives’ catwalk shows with Jo Wood, Pearl & Daisy Lowe and Sue Tilley.

150 DJs, including Norman Jay, Andrew Weatherall, Greg Wilson, Craig Charles, and A Guy Called Gerald , taking you on a journey through the most influential venues and sounds in the history of UK dance culture.

The huge Vintage Marketplace featuring the finest vintage couture labels, prêt a porter, street style, accessories, mid century modern homewares, records and up-cycled ephemera.

A fully functioning pop-up ‘High Street’, brimming with renowned brands from the past and present, including a vintage hair and beauty salon by Benefit, retail outlets from Cath Kidston and the return of iconic 50s textile  and dress makers Horrockses.

Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway bring their award-winning Vintage, UK’s Best New Festival as voted for in the 2010 Festival Awards, to Southbank Centre from 29 – 31 July 2011 as part of the Festival of Britain 60th anniversary celebrations with MasterCard.

Vintage at Southbank Centre is a sensual delight, a big dressing-up box, a collector’s dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages. For one glamorous weekend we celebrate the music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1980s with 3 unique revue shows featuring soul legends Percy Sledge and Booker T, electronic pioneers Thomas Dolby and Alan Wilder, 60s icon Sandie Shaw and over 150 DJs celebrating club culture through the decades, including Andrew Weatherall, A Guy Called Gerald, Greg Wilson and Norman Jay.

Royal Festival Hall will transform into a multi-venue playground designed by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway and the HemingwayDesign team. Over 13 hours each day, pass holders can ‘learn the dances’, take in 70 live performances and 150 exclusive DJ sets across 8 decade specific nightclubs, enjoy catwalk shows hosted by Jo Wood and Pearl and Daisy Lowe, brilliantly conceived vintage food and cocktails, or take advantage of all the wonderful vintage shopping on offer in the Vintage Marketplace. Watch out for the Vintage ‘style hunters’ who roam the site to snap the most fashion-savvy festival goers and the `Best in Show Parades’ that reward all those who quite simply look fabulous… Will it be you?!
