The Coniston Water Festival, Lake District, Cumbria – July 3rd-4th.
Brilliant. Stone skimming championships, an ‘It’s A Knock-Out’ comp and duck racing. Who needs Sasha?

The Garlic Festival, Isle of Wight – August 15th-16th
A village fete feel, strewn with straw hats, Morris dancers, coconut shying, welly throwing and five stages of music. But don’t think you’ll get a snog.
