Ibiza 2012 Special

What is your favourite memory of Ibiza 2012?

“The moment when superstar DJ  Fatboy Slim played our remix of Mason – ‘Solarium’ in front of thousands of people at Ushuaia…unbelievable!”

Tune of the summer?

“Asaf Avidan – One Day/Reckoning Song.”

Most overplayed record of the summer?

“Joris Voorn – ‘Goodbye Fly’, played both by house/tech DJs and mainstream artists.”

Favourite resident DJ on the island?

“Luciano at Ushuaia, no doubt!”

Why is Ibiza still the best party location in the world?

“Because clubs and artists are always on top, every night there is a different situation in every club and caters for every taste.”

Ibiza is now split straight down the middle with serious DJs spinning quality house and techno on one side, and DJs playing the big room bangers on the other.

“It’s not easy to judge because it’s all about the musical taste of everyone. We’ve seen people who were at Ushuaia in the afternoon at the closing party of Luciano and in the evening the same people were at F**k Me I’m Famous closing party at Pacha…as we said, it’s all about partyin’!”

What new party caused the biggest splash in their debut summer this year? And why?

“Is not really our genre, but probably one of the most important event during the summer on the island were Mondays at Pacha with Tiesto and his special guests like Tommy Trash, Dada Life and Swanky Tunes.”

Favourite restaurant and beach in Ibiza?

“El Faro for the best paella on the island and Cala Bassa is our favourite beach.”

Do you think the 123 Rocktronic Festival that featured the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Elton John, Sting, David Guetta and Tiesto this year is an important addition to the Ibiza summer, or do you think it is a case of one too many party on an already bulging season?

“Unfortunately we didn’t have the pleasure to be there, but people who was there said that it was a huge event, and putting together that kind of pop artist witht hugely important DJs made it a very unique event.”

What is the one record that will always remind you of Ibiza…?

“DJ Rolando – ‘Jaguar’.”

Best venue in Ibiza and why?

“Difficult to say, maybe Space for the artists…but also Ushuaia is making the difference, for its location, the sound system and DJs as well!”

A lot of money has been spent on the island in recent years improving things, what do you think is the biggest improvement on the island?

“Clubs and their sound system are always on top, connections to and from the venues are always efficient, and most of all the city seems to be getting cleaner.”

What nationality are the craziest people on the dancefloor?

“First of all British people, then Italians!”

Breakthrough artist of 2012?

“My Digital Enemy.”

If you had to pick one person to go out clubbing with in Ibiza, who would it be?

“No doubt, our best friend Ostilli In Da House.”

And finally, tell us about your first trip to the white isle…

“Our first trip in Ibiza was in 2000 and that holiday changed our way to see the club culture, and definitely told us what would be our future…”
