The UK house Producer and Founder of the legendary club night Koolwaters, arrives with his debut major label single, “Ride Of Your Life” featuring #1 selling Australian vocalist Kylie Auldist on Ultra Music…
Your new single “Ride Of Your Life” what was the inspiration behind it?
The single was inspired by old classic house. I wanted to recreate that 90’s House vibe, big piano but with a modern twist.
How did you and Kylie Auldist come to collaborate? Can we expect a live performance of the track?
I heard Kylie’s voice on KUNGS “This Girl” single and thought she would be perfect for the track. I spoke to my management, they got in touch with her and the rest is history 🙂 Funnily enough we have been discussing doing a live acoustic version of the track and posting it up for people to listen and sing along.
We love the music video for it, who came up with the animal concept, and shall we expect this theme at your next party?
I have to confess it was my wife’s idea originally. She said the video should be cool and maybe something with animals, along the lines of Coldplay so this was the brief we gave Ultra Music to pitch around to producers. We had so many different ideas sent back but in the end we settled with this Italian director and the video was produced. It was great watching things behind the scene, so much detail, time and effort goes into making a short video like this one. I am really pleased with the reactions so far and it seems to have really connected with people, video is up to 1.5 million views in two weeks which is insane!!
What can we expect from a Marc Vedo DJ set, and what are you favorite tracks to play out?
A Marc Vedo set can vary from where I am playing. I play private boat parties in Monaco to large Festivals in China so depending on what kind of show I adapt my sound but its always house music. It might be tougher house for a Festival or slower and vocal based if I am playing a club show.
The name of your latest release is “Ride Of Your Life,” could you share with DMC readers the craziest ride of your life?
I have had some crazy trips around the world, one of the maddest events was playing in Quebec, Canada on New Years eve in front of 20 000 people in minus 20%. The DJ booth was made out of ice and my hands were so cold within 15m of playing I couldn’t feel my fingers. It was just one of those gigs you think, did that really just happen!
