25 years of putting on festivals is one giant achievement! With an all star cast live lineup boasting the likes of Jill Scott, Soul II Soul, Patrice Rushen, The Brand New Heavies, Gregory Porter, Kenny Bobien, Josh Milan, Dawn Tallman and so many more…*breathe…Southport Weekender celebrated their 25th anniversary down at Butlins, Minehead with one helluva bang this weekend!!
Also on the bill was a massive DJ lineup including Southport veteran DJ’s Jazzy Jeff, David Rodigan, Kenny Dope, Trevor Nelson, David Morales, Fabio & Grooverider, Norman Jay, Greg Wilson, Frankie Knuckles, Joey Negro with a vintage house and Garage set, along with Derrick Carter tearing up disco and that’s just to name a few! Also in balance were some of the freshest current and underground talent on the block, including Atjazz, Karizma, Rainer Truby, Phil Asher, Sean McCabe, Souldynamic, Andre Lodemann, Natasha Watts and Little Stevie among many others. It’s true that Southport Weekender is one of the most musically diverse dance events on the calendar and still jumping through hoops to achieve only the best possible events for their 7000 loyal partygoers. They are indeed without a doubt one of the best! Happy 25th Anniversary Southport Weekender, thank you for everything you have done for the soulful music scene, you’re an institute and long may you continue!
