Trainspotting With Artche

Hailing from Newcastle UK, Artche made a name for himself back in 2018 with his debut record with Cristoph on Pryda Presents hitting Beatport’s no.1 spot. He’s since released on a plethora of well-established labels such as Terminal M, Yoshitoshi and Last Night On Earth, the latter being a collaboration with label boss Sasha himself. With support from the scene’s big hitters like Franky Wah (and playing several of his SHÈN dates across Europe), Eric Prydz, Pete Tong & Lane 8, Artche’s success is plain to see.

The emerging talent is enjoying one of his most exciting years yet, playing IMS Dalt Vila, plus joining Franky Wah at his SHÈN residency at Chinois Ibiza. Ahead of his B2B set with Franky at SHÈN’s closing at Chinois, a collaboration with Cristoph on his upcoming album, and plenty more shows in the pipeline including SHÈN in Nottingham, we caught up with Artche to get his Trainspotting picks…

James Organ & Artche – Collide (SHÈN Recordings)

My latest release with James Organ which has been a crowd favourite in my sets this year.

Overmono & Ruthven – Gem Lingo (ovr now) (XL Recordings)

It’s all about the effected vocal and pads in this one. So unique as always from Overmono.

Franky Way – Sunrise To The Morning (SHÈN Recordings)

Been waiting for this one to drop a while as it goes off every time it’s played. Love the lead that plays the melody of the vocal.

Nils Hoffmann & Kasbo ft. Vancouver Sleep Clinic – Running In A Dream (Jon Gurd Remix) (Anjunadeep)

I’m a sucker for a good vocal and certainly one of them. A very euphoric breakbeat track which I love.

Artche ft. Kuuda – Voices (Hold Me Close) (SHÈN Recordings)

Last played this in my live set in Tokyo and it went off. The vocal from Kuuda is amazing!

Jan Rene Lai – Close To Me (Stil vor Talent)

Love the winding lead sound in this one. Another really well produced track.

SOHMI – Only One (Dosem Remix) (Thrive Music)

This Dosem remix has been a favourite in my sets for a while. It definitely brings the energy!

Jon Gurd & Reset Robot – Expansion (Anjunadeep)

The square bass along with the lead really makes this track. Oh, and not forgetting those vocal chops!

Cristoph & Harry Diamond – Hold Me Close (Consequence of Society)

Cristoph always nails it with his tracks and this collab with Harry Diamond is another banger. Always goes off when I play it.

WhoMadeWho & Kölsch – Heartless (The Moment)

Such a feel-good track. WhoMadeWho never disappoint with their vocals/production and teaming up with Kolsch was always going to create something amazing.

Catch Artche at SHÈN’s Closing Party on Sunday 29th September at Chinois Ibiza, and look out for his new release with Cristoph, out soon.
