Trainspotting With Dan The Drum

From East End London barrow boy to club nights on the Costas, Dan “The Drum” Spalding has DJ’ed alongside the likes of Norman Jay MBE, Dave Lee, Craig Charles, Brandon Block, Ashley Beedle and Huey Morgan and the FAITH crew, to name but a few. Immersing himself since the age of 14 in Funk & Soul, Reggae, Ska, House, Rare Groove and Hip Hop, Dan went on to co-found ‘The Lockdown Legacy’ DJ fundraising events, raising thousands for local and national charities. Dan’s productions include ‘JazzCazz’ – a respectful spin on Coffee’s 1980 Disco classic, ‘Casanova’, with Ronnie Turner and Emma Noble. In addition he released the massive, ‘UK House Sermon’ – a collab with Stu Patterson and Carmy Love, including remixes from Xpress-2 and North Street West. As his new collab with Carmy Love, ‘Hurt So Bad’ lands on F*CLR, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Dan The Drum.

Brian Jackson – Race Track in France – BBE

The recent release by Brian Jackson and MAW I’ve just been playing constantly. This one is a listener and a dancer, top jam. So great to hear the tracks on this brilliant album get reborn

Brian Jackson, Masters At Work feat.Josh Milan & J. Ivy, Moodymann - Racetrack in France

Dan The Drum and Carmy Love – Hurt So Bad – F*CLR

Gone self indulgent on this one but mainly to spread the love of the great musicians on it. Really love the track and making it was a beautiful thing. Big up to Darren Morris, Joseph Nesbitt Larking, Carl Davies and of course my delectable partner in crime Carmy Love.

The Milk – I Need Your Love – WLS Records

I’ve followed the milk for a number of years and I think they are up there with the best of British soul at the moment. This track is soul cinema it’s beautiful both musically and in its production.

Dusty Doughnuts ft Emma Noble – Running Away – Dusty Doughnuts Classics

A classic tune which is a staple, my good pal Emma Noble always put a nice twist on stuff.

Running Away (Radio Edit)

Ten City – House Again – Nervous Records

Great return from Ten City, I like their whole new album, but this one is a feel good end of summer vibe as I head off to Ibiza this weekend!

Jimpster – Beat Of An Era – Nu Grooves

Love Jamie’s stuff.. this one has the nice deep feel with lovely jazzy vibes right up my street.

Leo Zero – Junk System – Bat Cave – Leo Zero Studio

Leo is one of my favourite producers and all round nice geezer, this Junk System stuff is superb, it really encompasses everything I like. There is electro, jazz, soul, indie in there a modern day eclectic classic.

Herr Krank – Retro Dance Machine – Chevry Records

Only heard this this weekend really liking hearing some of the older style production. It’s been in my head for a few days, I like it.

HERR KRANK - RETRO DANCE MACHINE [CHEVRY RECORDS]
