DMC World Magazine

Trainspotting with GALLO.

GALLO. heads up the TOTHEM music events in Paris, where he champions a broad musical style. His own cuts are just as diverse and blend energetic rhythms with melancholic synths inspired by world music, techno, house, rock and hip-hop. As his ‘Pietre’s Dance’ EP lands on Connected, hailing their milestone 150th release, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with GALLO.

Moeaike – Maybe – Rose Avenue

I love how these guys play with textures and melodies. This track reminds me of early David August; subtle, innovative, compelling and energetic! Top track as always.

Gallo. – Chaos (David Mayer Remix) – Zatar Music

Almost cried when I received the remix. Outstanding work from David Mayer that took my song to another level with beautiful layers of harmonies and perfect sound design

Meloko, Baron, Selim Sivade, Konvex – Me Gusta – Azzur

Worked a bit with Meloko, he is so talented to create enticing and complex grooves. This track with Konvex, Selim Sivade and Baron is a perfect example of a good collaboration. Each one brought its own expertise for a perfect blend, shout out to this amazing vocal and chords.

Emmanuel Jal – Eweeno – Moblack

I had the chance to meet Emmanuel recently in one of our TOTHEM parties in Paris. On top of being a really talented singer and producer, he is also a human rights activist. He’s had a great impact on the scene in Europe and Africa; I love when music takes a bigger place…

Jamie XX – Treat Each Other Right – Young

I’ve always been of emotional and energetic shifts in songs, Jamie XX is a master at it.

Auguste, Kreative Nativez & Antonio Lyons – I Have A Confession – Connected

I like everything about this track, solid work on groove, vocal arrangement and progression. Pure energy. My upcoming Pietre’s Dance on Connected tries to match this energy.

Gallo. – Chaos – Zatar Music

My creative process is inspired by a mix of genres and feelings. I like to create tracks with both joy and sadness for rich emotions, balance is key.

James Blake – Woo – UMG recordings

Because always James Blake.

Notre Dame – Kids Never Stop Dancing – Cercle

Notre Dame always delivers! Top grooves, beautiful melodies and vocals, great mix of energy and perfect sense of music.

Delali. – Bossa Du Sud – Delali.

Not electronic music but very inspiring. I discovered this song played live by Delali in an arty market in Paris. Feels simple, Feels right, Feels obvious. Good music.

GALLO. ‘Pietre’s Dance’ EP is released October 4th 2024 on Connected.
