Trainspotting with Solu Music

New York-based songwriting / producer duo, Solu Music are Howie Caspe and Dano Nathanson. In 2001, the pair made a huge impact with their first release, the house classic, and global club anthem, ‘Fade’ with KimBlee. Solu’s distinct musical style is a rich blend of house, soul, R&B, and world, working with vocalists KimBlee and Kai Martin, who brought her smooth sound to the acclaimed album, ‘Affirmation’ in 2004. Solu Music went on hiatus in 2008 and after a 15-year break, they’re reconnecting with the world of dance music with a gorgeous new collaboration with Gabby Law, ‘Feelin’ Love Again’. DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with the darlings of the deep and soulful, Solu Music.

Solu Music & Gabby Law – Feelin’ Love Again – Solu Music

Premiere: Solu Music & Gabby Law – Feelin' Love Again – Solu Music by Electronic Groove

So exciting to get back together and create something fresh with a groovy throwback live and direct soul vibe. Gabby law has been a blessing to work with and the dynamic vocals she brings to our sound has never felt more right. Lots of summertime fun.

Makebo, Amonita – Back To The Roots (Extended Mix) – Anjunadeep

Lushness with those “Bittersweet Symphony” strings. Great vibe for when the sun comes up in the summer.

DJ Spen, Gary Hudgins, Brandon Yancey, Jihad Muhammad – Sumthin Sumthin (Jihad Muhammad BTD Mix) – Quantize Recordings

Maxwell’s “urban hang suite” was one of our favorite albums back in the day, huge influence to us, it’s so nice to hear a smooth rendition of this 90s neo soul classic.

Rhye – Black Rain (Ame Remix) – Secular Sabbath

A pair that couldn’t be more perfect. The sultry sound of Rhye and Ame provides that forward-thinking sound across a sinister groove.

Halo, Maiya – Glory (Atjazz 2022 Rework) – Papa Records

This groove is so slick and just gives you the nasty face. And it works so great that vocal hook.

Moon Rocket, TSOS, Toni Economides – Hammondish – Moon Rocket Music

Can’t go wrong with some Hammond organ with some thick ferocious tribal drums.

Ten City – Suspicious (Reelsoul Rendition Vocal mix) – Fatsouls Records

What a beautiful update to the Ten City classic.

Kelli Sae, Atjazz – Right Now (Grant Nelson Remix) – Reel People Music

Grant knows how to make those big room mixes and this one does not fail. A great taste of some Africanism soundscapes that are just addictive on the dance floor.

Javi Bora , Demuir – Smashing Up (Demuir’s Playboi Edit) – Too Many Rules

Body music with champagne on ice. Nuff said.

Dames Brown, Andrés Amp Fiddler Louie Vega, Josh Milan – What Would You Do? (Expansions NYC Extended Dub Vocal) – Defected

So much to love about this, big vocals, live feel, killer beat, just some real good, feel-good, fine-ass funk.
