This New Year’s Eve Urban Nerds return to East London with another bass assault at the Hewett Street Car Park with the best of the best in dubstep, garage, grime, electro and UK funky! They’re joining forces with London graffiti posse ATG to throw the ultimate NYE mash-up featuring all the Urban Nerds and ATG resident DJs playing alongside what’s undoubtedly the biggest underground line-up in the Big Smoke this New Year!
Topping the bill is award winning UK garage pioneer and Kiss 100 selector, DJ EZ, with a rare East London set that will cross the finest old skool garage anthems with today’s progression of the sound. Representing grime (one of the most exciting UK genres to emerge in recent years) with an electric live performance is Skepta, the self proclaimed ‘King of Grime’ and Boy Better Know lyricist, the collective at the forefront of the scene that counts chart-toppers Wiley and JME amongst its members! Also in the house, BBC 1Xtra’s latest ‘In New DJs We Trust’ recruit, Redlight, brings his bass fueled, electro sound to the decks, fresh from remixing the likes of Toddla T and collaborating with a host of MCs from drum & bass songtress, Jenna G to grime originator, Jammer. Joining them with the sounds of UK funky and tribal house beats, Rinse FM’s Roska who’s making major waves in the latest genre to emerge from the London underground circuit.
As if that’s not enough, Nerds & ATG rising stars Rattus Rattus and Klose One head up a 20 strong team of resident DJs playing in an unmissable back-to-back soundclash, guaranteed to kick off double-oh-ten with a bang! All of this is backed up with mind blowing artwork and decor from ATG, plus Funktion 1 sound throughout the venue that promises to rumble your soul all the way into next year!
