Aki Bergen & Richter have been providing a constant stream of hits together now for the last 18 months or so, and they have fans all over the world and credits on many top labels. For their next move they produce three brand new and brilliant tracks. One of them comes with two different versions and two feature vocals from Luben.
‘If’ is the first of those and opens the EP in magical style. It has a lush percussion and bird calls making for a nice organic atmosphere. The drums are rubbery and rolling, the chords are emotive and the whole affair is effortlessly breezy with skipping drums driving it along. Rituals is then a spooky cut with spine tingling late night charm and more soft drums that really get under your skin. A second version of this one, In A Winter Night, is harder hitting and more driven. It’s for the dead of night rather than an outdoor terrace party but is just as effective. Finally, X-Change is almost eight minutes of tripped out tech house with globular synths and weird freaky sounds all adding to the fatness of the groove.
