This is currently my favourite Disco record and it’s no wonder it is delivered by the one and only Dave Lee aka Joey Negro. After his ‘Remixed with Love Vol 1 & 2’ and ‘Produced With Love’ albums even the smallest music fan should know who he is and if those releases and the dozens before haven’t been enough to underline that he actually IS the one producer who leads the way in modern Disco music, he still is now ready to add another one that leaves our mouths wide open. ‘Heed The Message’ by Al McKay Allstars in its Original version has been floating around on Steel Chest Music for quite some time within the healthy Soul & Funk scene, but it wouldn’t be Dave if he hadn’t filtered out the potential of the record by giving it the necessary Joey Negro revamp. Said and done, he turns the R&Bish midtempo roller into a soulful Disco record with loads of hooks, live instruments and a driving beat which makes the record essential. Beside a nice Instrumental a useful Reprise is added as well. Nothing more to say, really! Buy it!
