Air
Love 2
Virgin

Air’s new album has quite a ‘business as usual’ feel to it, but that’s meant in a good way – it proves their consistency as French lounge lizards over the last twelve years or so. Impeccably structured and beautifully orchestrated, it is extremely cinematic, with EnnioMorricone influences hovering around the edges, particularly in the guitar line of the excellent ‘Be A Bee’. Tracks like ‘So Light Is Her Footfall’ have the characteristically hushed vocal while ‘Missing The Light Of The Day’ has a pleasing electro edge to it, with a sure footed beat and widescreen piano against the vocals. As cultured as ever from the Parisian duo, this is Air still very much at their best.
