Sam Frank is a hot property in pop music at the moment, having recently supported the Pet Shop Boys. His heady electronic pop will turn heads, with its soaring falsetto choruses and rich instrumentation. When he nails his songs with catchy choruses they work really well, the likes of ‘Better Off As Two’ and ‘Confusion Girl’ providing great examples, while the standout single ‘3 Little Words’ sounds as good as ever. He does the slow songs well too, though sometimes there’s too much going on in the background, as closing ‘Run Away From Trouble’ proves, sounding much better with just a piano for accompaniment. Despite that there is much to commend here, and Frank is an assured and often exciting performer with bags of potential. Remixes should work a treat, too.
