The loping grooves of Brixton’s Alabama 3 have been with us for a good twelve years and counting, in which time they’ve secured a permanent spot on the small screen with ‘Woke Up This Morning’, taken up as the Sopranos’ theme music. This generous collection expands on their talent to include the humorous ‘U Don’t Danse To Tekno Anymore’, a tribute to a country king in ‘Hello…I’m Johnny Cash’ and other gems in ‘Monday Don’t Mean Anything’ and the Dope mix of the more serious ‘How Can I Protect You’. A unique band with their own, instantly recognisable sound – not something you can say that often in today’s musical climate.
