Everything seems pretty rosy in the Cr2 garden this summer, and this first volume of a new series confirms that right away. The first of three DJ friendly discs is titled ‘Upfront’, and showcases the label’s talent for the party season, impressing with the Mediterranean potential of Arno Cost & Arias’ ‘Magenta’. the slightly moody Thomas Gold remix of Nicole Otero’s ‘Sunshine Song’ and two updates of classic material in Steve Mac & M.Y.N.C. Project’s ‘Bells of Brighton (Slo Moshun) and DJ Jeroenski’s ‘Back Once Again’ (Wildchild). CD2’s selection of classics looks at the label’s achievements to date, with Fedde Le Grand, Danny Howells, Exhibit A and Eddie Thoneick/Kurd Maverick all delivering, if not quite yet at ‘classic’ status. Further enticements for DJs come in the form of an acappella CD. Sound as a pound then!
