This is one talented man. Boston Rodriguez, described as a ‘one man Santana’ in previous press, has apparently played every instrument on this, his debut album. And when you’ve heard it, you’ll realise just how many instruments that is! ‘Where’s The Party?’ gets the album off to a flyer, and the range of music employed later on includes funk, Latin and a form of drum and bass. Clearly something of an experimenter, Rodriguez has prodigious invention and, while the album is a bit ragged round the edges structurally, it does enough to showcase a very bright future indeed.
