‘Strings Of Life’ has been heard in many guises, and formed the basis for Christian Prommer’s jazz-led interpretations of classic house and techno material. Encouraged by Jazzanova, Prommer takes the likes of ‘Nervous Track’, ‘Plastic Dreams’ and ‘Trans Europa Express’ for a spin. Where he really astounds, though, is in a darkly percussive piano take on ‘Higher State Of Consciousness’ and an impressive elaboration on ‘Rej’, both interpretations revealing just how good the originals are in the process. A fascinating and hugely entertaining journey.
