A deserved retrospective of one of the modern era’s most influential electronic acts, in the form of three CDs of singles, rarities and remixes. You can have too much of a good thing of course, but in FSOL’s case the quality threshold is consistently high, whether it’s in their timeless tracks of sweeping ambience or the beat-heavy acidic numbers. Moving between the two proves easy as the retrospectives are laid out in a logical way, but a small minus point comes in the presentation of each track separately, rather than mixing one track into the other as the albums do. Whatever, it’s an important gap filled with many previously unavailable tracks – and as ever with this source, repeated hearings bring more rewards.
