CONNECTED – THE DJ/PRODUCER SERIES
JAY J
DEFECTED

This is quite simply the best mix of music I’ve heard from respected producer/ DJ Jay J in quite a while. Opening with two equally seductive songs to set you up for the evening the selection then delves into every avenue from smoother, soulful cuts like Koffee Brown’s ‘After The Party’ to the Jay J’s own remix of Bobby Konder’s unmistakable ‘Nervous Acid’.
And, with vocalists of the calibre of Jill Scott and Lisa Shaw visited along the way satisfaction is indeed guaranteed. I love the way he mixes moods and feelings on this first CD and to use the time-honoured clique Jay J takes you on a journey. Which then arrives at CD 2 and a collection of what you’d expect to hear out with lots of hissing hi-hats, breakdowns and general funky-house type excess. Featuring cuts from Copyright and Groove Junkies you’ll know just what to expect as the party gathers pace.
