ISOLEE
WESTERN STORE
PLAYHOUSE

By now, you shouldn’t need much convincing of how great Isolee’s music is, particularly following his recent “We Are Monster” LP, yet for the doubters and stragglers at the back, here’s more proof.  Twelve cuts picked from the Playhouse back catalogue – all released on 12″ between 1997 & 2003 – demonstrating Isolee’s style and longevity.  The classic “Bea Not Plage” is present in it’s Freeform Five re-work, alongside lesser known gems like the New Order-ish “Initiate II”, the glitchy Basic Channel-ish “Monitor”, or the spaced out funk of “King Off”.  Each cut still sounds fresh, and – as the word ‘prolific’ is not one that could be readily applied to this guy – it’s probably going to be the only full-length recording you’ll see from him in the near future.  Buy it and cherish it.
