It’s all go at Defected for not only does this CD mark the eighth annual Miami outing but more impressively this counts as the fiftieth release of the In The House series – which makes it feel like a long time has passed into collective history. Most Italians I know tell me that they do indeed do it better, but in all seriousness this heavy-duty selection of sterling House music, complied across three cd’s, is by a most significant threesome: Flashmob, Supernova and Pirupa. The former play with moods and textures ranging from deeper to tougher that include gems such as their own reworking of Blaze ‘Lovelee Dae’ to Mr G’s inevitable killer ‘Lightz’. Supernova, are much more about straight-up House featuring their take on Kerri Chandler’s classic ‘Bar A Thym’ in amongst any number of other totally invigorating grooves. Which leaves Pirupa to finish with a Techier flavoured selection that compliments the others perfectly, although ends on the most soulful strains of their excellent ‘Just For You’.
