LALI PUNA
I THOUGHT I WAS OVER THAT
MORR MUSIC

s far as glitch’n’click electronica goes, I can usually take it or leave it, except when it’s as emotionally charged as the way Berlin’s Lali Puna do it. “I Thought I Was Over That” is a collection of rarities, B-sides, remixes & a couple of new tracks, all shrouded in a certain mystery, that is as much compelling & heartfelt, as it is totally out there. Highlights include a cover of Slow dive’s “40 Days”, “Clear Cut” a collaboration with Bomb The Bass, & the incredible remix Lali Puna did on the Two Lone Swordsmen’s “It’s Not The Worst I’ve Ever Looked, It’s Just The Most I’ve Ever Cared”. In fact there’s not one duff cut on here, you just need to switch off & immerse yourself in the multi layered & rich textured world of Lali Puna, a bit like getting lost in a velvet floatation tank.
