Lustral’s debut album is imminent online, but here’s a taster in the form of two discs of well chosen remixes. Lustral’s pedigree is impressive – the duo of Ricky Simmonds and Stephen Jones were responsible for Chakra, Ascension and the Space Brothers – and the choice of remixers complements their music. It’s mostly tough, uncompromising house beats that yield to lush keyboard sounds or full blooded bass lines. Ralphi Rosario, Funkagenda, Oliver Moldan and Jaytech all excel, with the lush Dousk mix of ‘Broken’ just shading it as the pick of the bunch. Well worth acquiring alongside the album.
