REINTERPRETATIONS
ESKIMO

One of disco’s Holy Grail’s is 1978’s seminal Disco Club album by Black Devil, credited to Joachim Sherylee and Junior Clastridge as pseudonyms for French library writers Bernard fever and Jacky Giordano. They’ve since returned with last year’s 28 After album and now this selection of dubs by Fevre and remixes by Black devils fans including In Flagranti, Black Mustang, Unit 4, Quiet Village, Elitechnique and the ubiquitous Prins Thomas. The originals are Moroder-synth kneesups with barmy hooks, charging groves and an overall hotwired Italo-nu/disco turbo-rush. The remixes stretch, bend, fondle and spraypaint luminous codpieces where it counts, There really is something in the air as far as unabashed hedonist-hallucino fuiure-disco fever goes and here’s one of the originators with his disciples misbehaving gloriously.
