To be completely honest with you, there hasn’t been anyting better House Music has to offer, than the recent Louie Vega album. Already reviewed on these pages it is a real highlight of production skills, songwriting, arrangement and Vocalists. With the first single taken from this new album The Master At Work joins forces with fellow NYC cohort Cassio Ware to release ‘Just The Way I Like It’, a masterpiece for the lovers and shameless romantics. Cassio’s vocals lace the track with energy and movement, as his sonorous spoken word plays big brother to Vega’s sultry and bouncy production. As assumed, everything you can expect from a classic Louie production is there: brilliant keys, mighty drum programming and an awesome bass fit together perfectly.
Cassio begins big talking, but as his attempts at seduction start to pay off, a bombardment of female vocals and suggestive ad libs performed by Heather Walker & Adrienne Sykes take over. Altogether this can be considered as a classic Soulful House cut in the making. My personal suggestion is the ‘Roots NYC Verse Mix’ that oozes magic big time!
