A debut album to bring some much-needed warmth to January. ‘Movido Dubs’ is the work of Charles Spencer and Mauricio Aviles, and is an eight track album that’s well structured and blended into a single listening experience. If you’re into the sound of West Coast house, San Fran style, then this will definitely be for you as cool keyboards, funky hooks and carefully worked percussion fuses together. This makes good music for kicking back to, or setting out at the start of an evening. It’s all so effortless and warm, with just a touch of dub influence to give it a bit of edge – though even a bit more of this wouldn’t go amiss. It’s a bit like an electric blanket really!
