Another great feel good album for the summer sunshine sees Mr Bird explore the funkier side of life over some twelve tracks. Touching upon everything from smoky Soul to Jazz and Hip-Hop this long player feels like an exercise in musical history, which alongside Greg Blackman’s additional vocals replays it just about right. I love the lose sense of time and seemingly deft turntable skills involved on, Low-Fi Classics – an apt title if ever there was one. Plus, that you almost get the sense that this is a live performance spilling out of your speakers, and that makes the music and voice seem all the more impressive. From the inescapably funky, ‘Where Did The Party Go’ to the joyous opener, ‘Over Again’ this comes highly recommended.
