That hardy old disco standard by Earth Wind & Fire, “Let’s Groove”, is given a new lease of life in Sunlightsquare’s 2009 update. Sensibly, they don’t play with the formula too much, they just give it a summery upbeat feel, with a strong vocal performances and plenty of vocoder action. Bags of remixes too, shuffling between more commercially minded radio style cuts and deeper NY styled 90’s jams. You’ll be disappointed if you’re looking for the next direction in club music, but if you want strong, well-produced house that can sit early / mid-evening, this is one to check.
