This may be the third album from Omid ’16B’ Nourizadeh, but it’s his first long player in seven years, and is an all-encompassing double LP that looks to take the listener on a journey. In this objective it succeeds handsomely, with music of exceptional craft, rhythm and sharpness of mood. Omid seems to know instinctively just when to push on, covering loping techno beats, slower breaks and atmospheric asides – while throwing in a vocal track or two for good measure. This means the two parts of the record are extremely flexible, and work well whatever environment you’re listening to them in. Powerfully rhythmic and keenly felt, this is one in the eye for all those who say electronic dance music lacks emotion.
