Quentin Harris
No Politics
Strictly Rhythm

With his classy ‘Mix The Vibe’ compilation now on the streets, Quentin Harris adds a fine artist album in ‘No Politics’. The title implies something of a protest vibe, and that occasionally comes to the surface in the darker tracks, such as ‘Hate Won’t Change Me’ or the gospel tinged ‘Reason For Love’. Harris has a smooth, very danceable style, but it’s not too polished – and the vocal contributions are consistently excellent, from the forthright ‘Gotta Do’ right through to the slick ‘Travelling’. Harris knows exactly how to project his message, and at the same time provides fuel for the dancefloor.
