RADIO 4
ENEMIES LIKE THIS
EMI

New York’s Radio 4 are back with all guns blazing. ‘Enemies Like This’ has still got The Clash like energy of Radio 4’s classic ‘Gotham!’ LP, only this time round the tracks are more song based, and they’ve drafted in the talents of Jagz Kooner for extra clout on production duties. The opening title cut will have you leaping about and sloganeering before you know it, as machine gun snares and a rousing chorus set the tone. Check the first couple of lines on the album ‘I was a prisoner in a factory, I can’t keep nothing for myself’. The very funky ‘Too Much To Ask For’ harks back to Radio 4’s 2002 anthem ‘Dance To The Underground’, while ‘Everything’s In Question’ gets a touch dubtastic, and the percussive ‘This Is Not A Test’ has got a certain afro beat / Danceteria vibe. ‘Enemies Like This’ is Radio 4 back on top of their game, having the time of their lives.
