The Black Dog’s huge, see-through testicles were swinging mightily in 1993 when the great beast found a spot choice enough to squat and drop one of techno’s all-time great classics. The Dog’s debut album for GPR is now reissued by Soma as part of the public service it started earlier in the year with the first three EPs and Parallels album. It certainly is great to wallow once more in long-unavailable gems like the other-worldly ‘Kings Of Sparta’, ”Sharp Shooting On Saturn’ and ‘Cost II’, one of the most beautifully space symphonies of all time [And also out as part of an EP selected from the album]. Amidst the extra-terrestrial sonic  trail-blazing there is also a sense of mischief on tracks like ‘Jupiter’ which willingly bows to Detroit but is equally proud to show off its own massive creative stiffie.
