A CHEERFUL TEMPER
SYSTEMATIC

DJ Pone, DJ Need, Little Mike & Crazy B are collectively known as Birdy Nam Nam, a French turntablist outfit who’ve made a name for themselves with some stunning shows and an excellent album a few years back.  This release gives a glimpse of them performing live in Paris in June 2006, performing mostly tracks from their debut, from the wired-up jazz of their debut “Too Much Skunk Tonight”, through scathing electro, breaks and freaky downtempo jams (the moody opener “Stephane” is dark than a collapsed star).  In addition, there’s the bonus of a DVD which shows the guys in action, as well as giving you ”Making of” segments. So you get to see how they piece everything together, and coupled with plenty of the usual DVD bonus features, makes this a tidy little package and a cool introduction to the Birdy Nam Nam ethos.
