Rui has been building a solid following for his 64 Records and now uncorks its first album. Unfortunately for some, it’s only available as a download but it does make for a cracking promo CD! That aside, the music itself is Rui’s own gripping take on the minimal sound. Tracks like ‘The Whole Room Dematerialized’ and ‘The Contracting Perception Of Consciousness’ are sparse and glitchy, peppered with the requisite creaks, clanks and insect legs percussion. The sound is so minimalised that touches like the popping bass on ‘The Entity’ come like a hammer to the bollocks. One man’s futuristic vision laid bare and pulsating.
