Santos’ third album is by some distance his best yet, jumping straight out of the box with the whopping beats and big basslines of ‘I’ve Made Progress’ and ‘Elektro’. His ability to blend a bruising breaks style with a powerful take on house music gives tracks like ‘Stop! What?’ a real cutting edge, and as the driving momentum on this continuously mixed opus carries us forward, there are surprising diversions from muted trumpet along the way, not to mention a barrel load of effects, distorted and otherwise. A seriously good record, from a man who should really go places this year.
