‘Earth To The Dandy Warhols’ sees Courtney Taylor- Taylor & Co return to the fray on their own record label Beat The World. So now they are free from the big corporate machine have they gone out on a limb, well the answer is no not really. Opening cut ‘The World The People Together (Come On)’ is typical Dandys with bells on, nice strumming and a tad psychedelic. ‘Mission Control’ keeps the vibe, but has Courtney doing his best Howard Devoto impression. However ‘Welcome To The Third World’ is a change in direction and is heavily influenced by Talking Heads and ‘Some Girls’ era Rolling Stones. The following ‘Wasp In The Lotus’ is a return to quintessential Dandys, and ‘Earth To…’ their sixth album pretty much stays that way. Probably not that many new fans gained, but the die hards will be well happy.
