One of the most influential producers of the disco era is still winning new admirers thanks to some terrific refashions of the Gallic greats ’70s catalogue. After a string of reissues with Jamie Lewis reworking the beats, it’s now the chance of disco purist Joey Negro to shine. And that he does revisiting a single that first appeared back in 1977 as the title to the aptly named opus, ‘Cerrone’s Paradise’. These new updates sticks close to the original blueprint allowing the lush strings, soaring female vocals and funk-tinged brass take us back in the blink of an eye to those heady days of Studio 54.
