18 track compilation of remixes and re-productions from the ever-busy Washington DC duo Thievery Corporation. Most will be familiar with their dubbed out sound, a sound which rarely gets out of breath and is all the better for it – these are thick and syrupy laidback sounds to wrap yourself in and forget about the world for a short while. One area in which they do surprise, however, is the range and breadth of the artists they’ve worked with. The Doors, Astrud Gilberto, Herb Alpert, Nouvelle Vague, Sarah McLachlan, all feature as artists who have benefited from the velvet-like production/remix of Thievery Corporation. You’ll also find a few of their own compositions nestled in there for good measure – including the fantastic “Originality” with Sister Nancy – making finding a better, more diverse collection of armchair delights a very tough proposition indeed.
