The Freerange Colour series continues to be a byword for all things good in deeper house music, and ‘Orange’ is up there with the best of their compilations so far. Often their track selections combine warmer sounds and sharper riffing, as is the case here with the MotorCitySoul remix of Brett Johnson’s ‘Cuckoo’. On the deeper side of things it would be hard to beat Nacho Marco’s ‘Wench’ (via the mixing desk of Francois Dubois), Rocco’s ‘The Revolution’ and Marcel Waves’ ’27 Holton’, while Milton Jackson and Jimpster offer sharp material also. Another bright colour to add to the house spectrum.
