Temporary Secretary Mixed By Dixon
Innervisions

A clever mix, this, but not one that leaves you scratching your head. Dixon’s characteristically smooth style comes through as his set progresses through some deep house cuts, but he’s not averse to throwing in something a little different, often blending in elements of two tracks at once. This works particularly well in the merging of Jazzanova’s ‘Let Me Show You’ with Daniel Paul’s ‘Something About You’, while the lush ‘Ongou’ from Icasol starts out, blending into the darker Fever Ray track ‘If I Had A Heart’. The Innervisions head ends with two standouts from his own label, Ame’s strange ‘Setsa’ and the atmospheric Tokyo Black Star track ‘Sepiaphone’. This is a compilation that works really well on the home stereo, either early evening or early morning, its cinematic sweeps and solid house beats complementing each other.
