Wax Tailor
Hope & Sorrow
Lab’Oratiore

Wax Tailor’s ‘Tales Of The Forgotten Melodies’ was an extremely well-received debut album, and his music continues to do extremely well in America, where it has sat in iTunes’ top 100 albums for two years now. ‘Hope & Sorrow’ is low-slung hip hop that with its guests can include jazz, as in the thoughtful ‘The Games You Play’, or off beat funk and soul on ‘The Man With No Soul’. The upfront, brass-edged ‘Positively Inclined’ and ‘House Of Wax’ have much to offer, the latter with its ensemble rapping, while the cello is put to good use on several numbers with beguiling vocalist Charlotte Savary. An album growing in substance as it progresses, this could well join its predecessor in a long chart stay.
