Artbat is a DJ and production duo from Kiev, Ukraine, made up of DJ Artur and Batish. After EPs on labels like Definition: Music they get a leg up to big time Spanish imprint Suara. In return the pair showcase their style across three killer cuts.
First up, the patient and slow burning Trip is a brooding number with a big sweeping bassline that carries you away. It has some poignant chords laid over the top and is the sort of eerie, nocturnal tune that encourages you to get lost in a trance. Wall comes next and is more direct, with scintillating chords riffs rumbling way over the drums. Its a dramatic cut for a big impact and then comes the last effort Knup. This one is six mounts of smooth and mid tempo deep tech that has steamy female vocals and is riddled with off kilter melodies. It is grinding and groovy and closes out a fine EP.
