What we really love about Superstyle Deluxe’s production is their willingness to experiment and push things forward, they don’t follow any rules and try to bring something new to the scene. Their choice in releases for their label follows the same rules. ‘Whistleblower’ is modern, electronic breakbeat / 70’s funk hybrid built around an infectious vocal complete with real whistle samples, undulating bass line and squelching synths. A heads down funky groover but with peak time attitude that irresistibly drops into the full 70’s funk workout and a more sinister bass line. The flip takes on a more laid back approach with the same necessary quota of funk and groove to keep the music loving public more than up to speed with current trends.
