Latest on Ali B’s Air Recordings is a striking debut from new duo Stephen Baxter and Lee Richardson [who also run their own Diverted Traffic label]. This track caused commotion on Ali B’s ‘Air Breaks’ set and will do further damage here with its stark breaks, man of mystery vocal and spaced atmosphere which get effectively wrapped in Detroit techno strings. The flip’s ‘Fink’ introduces elastic electro riffs, subtle funk injection and feels good in the stomach. Very promising start.
