L.A. Hookers (AKA Red Star) gets his hooks into this tech-house by numbers routine and plants it firmly on the breaks side of the floor. Spooky laughs and slightly cheesy but effective Sci-Fi FX give it a certain spacey quality, and there’s that all important booming bass to tickle the speakers. The reason it works so well is because the guy understands how to build tension, gradually adding more drama as the track progresses, eventually giving it all in a major breakdown pay-off two thirds in. Check it.
