Yep, it’s Big Daddy Kane, the rapper who led the late 80s Cold Chillin’ onslaught from New York City and posed hilariously in his y-fronts for Madonna’s Sex book. The man liked to big himself up and doesn’t break the habit of a lifetime when he plants his resonant tones over the Stanton Warriors’ roller-coaster electro-booty kneesup. There’s a diverse array of remixes: the Bassbin Twins are audaciously ruthless in their manhandling of beats and backdrop as they continually change gear causing the most damage while always enhancing the rap. Great to see someone breaking away from the standard breaks formula and really putting the cat among the pigeons. Deekline and Ed Solo take the incendiary breaks route while the Nextmen rip it up with damaged dubstep scattershot rhythms and cutup vocal carnage.
