Annie Mac takes care of the outer edges of the dancefloor with an admirably eclectic mash-up, taking in bits of dubstep, electroclash, b-more, breaks, pop and more, melding them unfussily together for some peaktime action. Some fantastic talent on display – Major Lazer, Dizzee Rascal, Fake Blood, La Roux, The Juan Maclean, Geeneus, Rusko, Simian Mobile Disco, Caspa, Florence & The Machine, Bat For Lashes, Martyn – it’s split across two CDs, with the first volume providing the dancefloor kicks whilst the second concentrates on those ‘just got back from a late night and need to relax’ styles. Annie Mac knows what’s she’s doing in letting the music take care of business, it really is the kind of compilation that needs to be heard, and heard at a very high volume.
