CULTURE CLUB VOL.4
MIXED BY STARSKI & TONIC AND TLP
ESKIMO

Offering the best DJ line-ups you could ever wish for, Belgian discotheque Culture Club is the living proof you can run a successful business without having to opt for the lowest common denominator. From the electro cream of now (Tiga, Tiefschwarz, Hell, Blackstrobe…) to legends (M.A.W, Felix, Peterson, Jazzy Jeff) and crucial acts (Scissor Sisters, Vitalic, Whomadewho), it’s strictly about quality at this renowned club dissimulated in the industrial outskirts of Gent. Closely involved, The Glimmers and 2 Many DJs have set high standards  with their frenetic eclecticism, and the current resident DJs have kept the ‘anything goes’ spirit going. Starski & Tonic are mixing semi-forgotten old-school house hits (Maars, TC 91, Tyree) with new school electro (Lifelike & Menace, Booka Shade, Sweet Light), throwing the unexpected in (rock, disco, Les Rythmes Digitales, Simple Minds) and it works. TLP aka Troubleman might be Belgium’s ‘mr black music’, he only seems too happy to please with a soulful selection that gathers together Donna Summmer, Jungle Brothers, ‘Doctor Pressure’ and Michael Sembello’s ‘Maniac’. In a dance world where variety’s become pretty much the only entertaining option left, Culture Club’s well up there.
