Underwater

Underwater Solo’ is a new series showcasing Underwater artists and related friends, and hot Bristol duo Deepgroove’s Grayon Shipley and Lee Pattison are first behind the decks, having already had a prolific 12 months, releasing a string of exceptional tracks and remixes. This is there very first mix compilation, and showcases the “four to the floor” dance sensibility which is sweeping the UK, bringing “up for it” funky chunky house grooves back to the fore. Deepgroove, are at the forefront of this movement, and concentrate firmly on spreading the gospel of dirty, big room, twisted 4 am moments and the use of new technology within DJing to bring a punk attitude to their dancefloors. Whether it be rocking the big tents at festivals or through their chunky and powerful, dirty house production, they have sought to provide a focal point for the clubbers who like their bass booming – the lights turned down and their music jacking. Not content with a straight DJ mix CD ‘Solo’ contains there own exclusive edits on King Unique ‘To the Left’, Steve Angello ‘Teasing Mr Charlie’, Hardfloor ‘Acperience’, Unit 4 ‘Body Dub (Tiefschwarz Remix)’ and Black Strobe ‘Nazi Trance Fuck Off (James Holden Remix)’,  all being exclusive to this album. The track listing is a who’s who of all that is good in a ‘deep groove style’, with tracks from Soma, Get Physical, Klang Elektronik and Kompakt. The Underwater club nights are also on tour with some dates including label boss Darren Emerson. Along with Tiefschwarz mix album earlier this year this is bound to be one of the underground mix albums of 2006.
